Driver Improvement
$75 per course; $25 Pre-Registration
Eight (8) Hour course offered on the third Saturday of the month.

The Driver Improvement course provides additional driver education and training to individuals identified by the DMV and the Commonwealth court system as problem drivers, and as a way for drivers wishing to improve their driving knowledge. The course is composed of uniform education and training programs designed for the rehabilitation of problem drivers as outlined in Title 46.2. Motor Vehicles, Chapter 3. Licensure of Drivers § 46.2-490. The course objective is to create a lasting and corrective influence on driving performance. Instruction includes, but is not limited to: aggressive driving; alcohol and drug abuse; distracted driving; motorcycle awareness; and work zone safety.

Successful completion of this course may result in the return of driving privileges and a reduction of motor vehicle insurance rates for the driver. Some situations require the individual to retake this course every two years.

Driver Improvement requires a $25 pre-registration fee due before the course start, with the $50 balance due the day of the class. If space is available, walk-ins can join the day of the class for $100.
